Rua'a AlMajali

A Champion with big dreams, young with many accomplishments, Rua'a AlMajali. A hard working girl who tries her best to make her family, friends, and most important her country proud of her.

Throughout Rua'a's childhood she tried many sports looking for a sport that makes her special, a sport that gave her comfort, as she found fencing an interesting, weird sport that she liked. She started fencing back in 2014, finding acceptance from her friends and family towards this sport, and most important her coaches, they gave her all the love and support she needed through her journey.

Rua'a started representing Jordan's fencing national team in 2018, as she succeeded in aiming many medals, getting her first medal representing Jordan a gold medal in the Asian Circuit in Bahrain.

Just like every athlete Rua'a experienced difficulties. She found it hard to do good both in school and fencing, but she still tried her best and started to manage her time to make it to her academic and athletic dream not letting herself down. Another aspect of her difficulties was her ups and downs through the competitions, took her time to recognize it was normal, and every athlete suffers from ups and downs and not dealing with it good enough mentally, but what made her the champion she is now is coping with it and handling it.

As a fencer writing this blog, talking about Rua'a feels good, i'm happy that i got the chance to play with her, someone who I look up to, a real champion that helps younger fencers get through their mental borders, a genuine person with real talent, wishing her the best through her journey. As her next goal is getting into the Olympics.

Rua'a AlMajali is currently ranked 150 in women's foil fencing.
